DIY slipper decorated with music fabric

DIY music fabric decorated slippers

Today I’ve got a fun craft project using music fabric and MySlippers! (I don’t have a discount code, but you can find them on the internet.) Plus, there’s a giveaway at the bottom of this post!

This post may contain affiliate links, banners, &/or embeds. If you make a purchase through one of these links, I may earn a commission at no additional cost to you (more info here). I try to mark most in-text links with an asterisk. Thank you for your support!

Supplies

  • MySlippers (I used women’s, but here are some men’s) (this style is on close out, so hurry and grab yours!)
  • ironed music-themed fabric (I used this Fischarper harpist design, but you can browse other Fischarper music designs here)
  • a piece of paper
  • glue (I used something similar to this)
  • scissors
  • air erasable fabric pen
  • fabric protectant spray (optional)

How to

You can watch the video at the bottom of the post, or read a guide here.

1. Make a template.

Place the paper on the top of your shoe. Make an indent with your thumb nail around where you want the fabric to go.

Cut this out, leaving extra room. Place it on the shoe and repeat until you have a template.

You only need to make one, as you can flip it over to use as a template for the other shoe.

2. Cut out the fabric.

Using your template and erasable marker, mark what you’ll cut out for your shoe. I did it on the right side of the material so I could more easily control the placement. If you’re using a different kind of fabric, it might be good to mark it on the other side.

Cut out the fabric on the lines you drew.

Repeat for the other shoe, making sure to flip over your template.

3. Glue.

Spread glue onto the part of the slipper where you’ll be adding the material. Place the fabric onto the shoe. Once placed, lift the fabric and add more concentrated glue around the edges.

Use your closed scissors to press the material into the seams. Smooth the material as necessary.

Repeat on other shoe.

4. A little more glue.

Add a little glue to the top tongue area and smooth out to discourage fraying.

Continue to smooth out any wrinkles or air bubbles.

5. Let dry and spray.

Let your shoes dry.

Optionally spray them with this protectant spray.

The added decoration on these shoes probably aren’t super durable. If the fabric lifts, just glue it back down.
