DIY business card magnet with resin

Business Card Magnet DIY

Today is another DIY! This one is a pretty easy way to make your business card into a magnet. Also, I think I figured out the trick to get the Envirotex to dry un-sticky (unlike this project)!

Supplies

  • EnviroTex (you could also probably use regular resin)
  • related mixing supplies – cups & stir sticks
  • small weighing scale
  • business card
  • magnet (a great way to upcycle)
  • glue
  • scissors
  • lighter
  • something heavy to set on it while the glue dries
  • it’s also good to protect your work surface with something like an old towel

1 – Mix

Mix the Envirotex according to the directions.

I recently tried measuring by weight, & so far it’s worked really well! Plus you can measure it all in the same cup!

2 – Pour & Spread

Pour some Envirotex on your business card (not too much). Spread it around with your skewer, adding more little by little if necessary. Use a lighter (carefully & at your own risk) to get rid of any bubbles. Let dry undisturbed.

3 – Add Magnet

Cut the magnet to size if necessary and glue to the back of your business card. Set something on it while it dries.

Once dry, display your magnet!

This is a great project for using up extra mixed Envirotex or other resin, such as if you’re making a music-themed coaster.

Are you going to turn your business card into a magnet? This would be a cool gift to make for a music teacher as well, using his/her business card! Let me know if you make this!
