My Sheet Music Plus Experience // Fischarper

Thoughts on Sheet Music Plus

Hsppy 2021! In today’s post, I’ll be sharing some of my thoughts on & experiences with Sheet Music Plus*. The majority of my experience has been with SMP Press* as an arranger/composer & the Sheet Music Plus Affiliate Program.

This post may contain affiliate links, banners, &/or embeds. If you make a purchase through one of these links, I may earn a commission at no additional cost to you (more info here). I try to mark most in-text links with an asterisk. Thank you for your support!

Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored, but will probably be chock full of affiliate links. Speaking of, let’s start with SMP’s afflilate program.

Make sure to double-check any of the information I share. Things change, & I could also be wrong on things.

Sheet Music Plus Affiliate Program

This affiliate program has been the most successful for me. This doesn’t mean that I’ve earned an exorbitant amount from it, but from what I can tell from my analytics (still need to work on my skills in that area…lolz), my following isn’t massive, so that makes sense.

Some of my favorite things about the SMP Affiliate Program:

  • Easy to become an affiliate.
  • Wide variety of music to recommend.

Amazon is supposed to be an easy affiliate program for success, but I’ve had approximately a 0% success rate. I think I got booted from it the first time for not making enough sales in the designated amount of time. Then I believe I got kicked out because this post apparently didn’t follow the guidelines. I’m not a huge Amazon person anyway. (If you want to know my thoughts on that, let me know!)

I love that SMP doesn’t require you to make a certain number of sales to stay in the program. There is a minimum amounts required to be paid, but I believe affiliate commission combines with your composition/arrangement income. You can even earn affiliate income on your own products (& your own purchases)! There is also a composer referral bonus* you can get!

You aren’t limited to just the printable music on Sheet Music Plus. They also offer hard copies of music & books. You might notice affiliate links to many of the fake books I use in videos, or on this page of recommendations.

Composer/Arranger Program

Sheet Music Plus’s composer/arranger program* is awesome! I think I first learned about it through Christy-Lyn (looking for some of her harp arrangements*?). If you’re looking for some of my arrangements, you can find them in the shop section of this website, or you can search “Fischarper” on SheetMusicPlus.com*.

Some things I like:

  • Variety of items you can publish.
  • Digital.
  • Customer Service.
  • Passive Income.

You can upload original compositions, arrangements of music in the public domain, & — are you ready for this? — they even have a list of copyrighted songs you can sell through their site. There are specific guidelines you need to follow, but they take care of the royalties.

Will arrangements of copyrighted music make you a ton of money per arrangement sold? No. But, they can add up, and help you build your audience. And the don’t forget, with copyrighted music, there are other people who need to be paid.

Since your arrangements/compositions are printable digital downloads, you don’t have to worry about printing costs, inventory, or any of that headache.

Also since they’re online, once you’ve published it to SMP Press*, it’s there to earn you some passive income! Of course you can promote it on social media, etc., but it’s up on the site, ready to be purchased & printed.

If there’s song that you want to arrange but it isn’t on their list, you can even request it. I’ve been in touch with customer service via email (probably for the affiliate program & SMP Press*) in the past, & have had good experiences. It seems like at least one time, I requested a song & they were able to add it to the list of approved songs.
