DIY Harp (Cat) Scratching Pad

Is your favorite harpist cat ready for a new instrument? Have no fear, you can make a harp scratching pad (you know, kitty can have claws to play this one!), upcycling cardboard.

Watch the video above (don’t forget to subscribe!) and/or follow the written instructions below to make your own!
SUPPLIES
cardboard cutout harp (you can make your own)
lots of strips of cardboard (about 1 inch wide)
hot glue gun
hot glue gun sticks
scissors
catnip (optional)

Cut out your harp shape from a piece of cardboard. Draw out the shape first, or just eyeball it.

You can use scissors or some type of craft knife. Be careful when cutting.

Take some of your cardboard strips and hot glue them vertically around the perimeter. You can bend the curves before gluing them down.
Add more strips if necessary, and trim to size.
Glue the strips in the harp shape, mimicking harp strings. Trim when necessary. Keep trimming & gluing. If some of your strips aren’t long enough, just use more than one.
Keep going until you fill up the harp.

Admire your harp-crafting skills, before sprinkling with catnip & enjoying your kitten’s musicality!

Need some more musical feline crafts? Try this catnip harp or this no-sew version!

As always, be sure to show me your take on the project (& your cute cat!) on social media. Tag me and/or use #Fischarper!
