In “At the Movies” I link to TV shows and/or movies that have music in them…often harps (of course!). These might (or might not) be resources you’d like to add to your lending library or assign for students to find as some fun, away-from-the-instrument homework! Today's installment features an episode of The Munsters. You can see the harp in many episodes of this series. In "Munster Masquerade," the babysitter (Mrs. Morton) does a sort of descending glissando, then the harp play an ascending glissando itself. Here are a few questions you might ask your students if they watch this:
By the way, did you see my video of The Munsters theme on harp? What have you been enjoying on the tube lately? Let me know in the comments! -Barbara

A few strings broke on my harp not too long ago (thanks, Irma! [maybe?]), and I do not enjoy changing strings! So, I thought I'd put together a little roundup of some resources that might be helpful! This string octave chart with the staff from Sylvia Woods Harp Center could be really helpful!
So are you a string replacing wiz? Or not? Or somewhere in between? Are there any great resources out there that I missed? -Barbara
